Big Flavors From A (Still Tiny) Remodeled Kitchen

I'm in the midst of the longest month (and then some) of my life. We've been remodeling our kitchen, and as of Friday we should be able to at least use it like normal again. It still won't be totally finished, but it's getting there. I haven't been able to cook, with the exception of a few meals over at my in-laws' house, and it's been driving me insane! This Wednesday, we'll finally have the granite installed, and then Friday we'll have plumbing. We'll still need to paint and do the backsplash, but then the kitchen will be back in action after those 2 things happen. I've missed blogging like crazy, and I really appreciate all of the encouraging words that you all have sent me.

If you're interested in seeing the work in progress, you can check out the journal that I've been updating here. I'll definitely be posting a few drastic before and after pictures on this blog after it's all finished, but that's the play by play.

I'm finally able to kind of use the kitchen this week, so I'll be posting a few back dated entries so there's a record of the few awesome things I was able to do for this past month plus.

I'm very excited to get the next few days over with so that I can get back to happily cooking and posting my here. Thanks so much for sticking with me through this insanity! Here's a gem for you - wallpaper that was found hidden under the layers of paint on the walls - probably over 30 years old!

  2. Oh I can totally see it! It was just funny because of how many layers of floor, wallpaper, etc. the previous owners of this house had...we've found plenty of things in this house that are older than me!

  3. Try living in a house that's over 100 years old (mine). You wouldn't believe the layers of paint and wallpaper we discovered. Some of the old wallpaper, I was like, Hey, I LIKE that!!

  4. My grandmother has that wallpaper in her kitchen! We have a tiny kitchen as well that we renovated over the summer. I'm featuring a week of kitchen updates in my blog this week.
