Sloppy Joes

I'm not going to try to attempt to make Sloppy Joes look pretty. These are delicious. It's the way my mom makes them and they're perfect comfort food. They're pretty low maintenance, which was a great way to end the week.

Sloppy Joes
Cooking for Two - Betty Crocker

½ cup onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
2 pounds hamburger
⅔ cup ketchup
½ cup water
¼ cup celery, chopped
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon dried mustard

Sauté onion in butter. Add hamburger and brown. Drain fat and add rest of ingredients.
Simmer 30 minutes, covered.

  2. This is the recipe I always used, but I didn't actually create it. It's from Betty Crocker. It's the base of their chili recipe.
